Citizens Leadership Academy
Program Overview
The Goodlettsville Citizens Leadership Academy is a citizen engagement course designed to provide Goodlettsville residents with a better understanding of the workings of their municipal government and how city services are delivered. The program gives participants a comprehensive look into city departments, programs and services offered in each, and tours of city facilities. Learn how Goodlettsville is governed, how the annual budget is developed, and how your tax dollars work for you. The Citizens Leadership Academy is a free program designed for City of Goodlettsville residents 18 years and older.
Class Schedule
The Citizens Leadership Academy will be offered in 2019. The class schedule runs late summer into fall on every other Tuesday evening between August – October from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Class graduation will then be held at the City Commission meeting. Classes will meet in different city facilities depending on which department is highlighted that evening.

September 3 – Parks and Recreation / Tourism
September 17 – Public Works: Streets, Sanitation, Sewer & Stormwater
October 1 – Fire Department
October 15 – Police Department
October 24 - Graduation: Presentation of Pins and Plaques at City Commission Meeting
Class size is limited to 20 participants. To be as fair as possible, we ask that Goodlettsville citizens apply only if they can commit to all classes, with the exception of the allowance of one missed class. Graduation certificates will be presented to those participants who meet these requirements.
