Residential Bulk Item Pick Up

Residential bulk rubbish is defined as items which, by their size and shape, cannot be readily placed in City of Goodlettsville approved containers. Items are including but not limited to boxes, furniture, bedding, etc. These items must be placed at the street. All cardboard boxes, cartons, and crates shall be completely collapsed prior to being deposited for collection. We do encourage residents to recycle their cardboard boxes in the recycling container provided. Curbside bulk item pickup shall be $25.00 per item, picked up at curbside. Collection of bulk items, including white goods and brown goods (as defined in this section), shall be picked up after payment of a fee-for-service by the requesting residential property owner or occupant.

Definitions:

  • Brown Goods is defined as furniture, bulky single items, and single items that does not fit within the ninety-six gall roll trash cart.
  • White Goods is defined as large household appliances.

*Single items that have been disassembled into more than one piece shall be considered one item.

The City of Goodlettsville does not pick up chemicals or hazardous materials. The City does not pick up construction waste generated by contractors, tree trimmers, or persons doing work for profit or personal gain. The removal and disposal of such materials shall be the responsibility of the contractor, developer, or property owner. 

Residential Brush Pick Up Service

The City will have a crew running in each county on a monthly basis. There is no set schedule when pick up occurs on a specific street other than at least once a month (weather and quantity dependent). There is no need to call for service pick-up as trucks are running on a continual basis.

The City is unable to accept commercial-cut brush and limbs.

 There is no additional cost for this pick-up service.

All brush (tree limbs, shrubbery and hedge trimmings) must be placed at curbside or street side adjacent to the front property line with the cut ends facing the street. Limb size may not exceed eight (8) inches in diameter and ten (10) feet in length. All brush shall be neatly stacked in an un-scattered manner and shall not be placed on top of water / gas meters or valves, piled against utility poles or any item which could be damaged by collection equipment. The brush must be free of any debris (e.g., bagged yard waste, wire, plastic, concrete, metal, nails, etc.) in order to be picked up.

The City of Goodlettsville does not pick up yard waste generated or produced by contractors, tree trimmers, or persons doing work for profit or personal gain. The removal and disposal of such materials shall be the responsibility of the contractor, developer, or property owner.
