Imagination Playground
Imagination Playground
The Imagination Playground is available during regular operational hours at the Delmas Long Community Center and at some special events such as Halloween in the Park.
Imagination Playground in a Cart ™ features a collection of oversized blue foam parts that allows children to build and re-build play structures with their imaginations. It helps develop healthy bodies, resilient and creative minds and social and emotional well-being. Architect David Rockwell designed Imagination Playground to encourage child-directed, unstructured free play.
Play is central to a child's ability to grow into a productive adult. It can transform children from sedentary, bored and solitary to physically, mentally and socially active.
These modular, rectilinear parts are easy to stack line up and move around. Children enjoy an endless variety of play patterns including construction, pretend play, role-playing and inventing their own games. Most importantly, they are deeply engaged, active and have hours of fun.
