1. Is the Fire Department hiring?

We currently maintain an open solicitation for part time firefighters. Minimum requirements are TN Firefighter 1 and EMT. The application can be found here.

2. What is our Fire Department ISO Rating?

The Goodlettsville Fire Department has an ISO Rating of 3/3X.

3. How far in advance do I need to schedule a tour?

Any advance notice is appreciated although we do lots of walk up tours. Large groups are best handled during business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm weekdays) and require a reservation by calling 615-851-2245 or emailing jlanius@goodlettsville.gov.

4. Will the Fire Department attend my child's birthday?

We schedule dozens of fire safety presentations throughout the year but we are unable to commit to private parties.

5. Does the Fire Department install car seats?

We do! Our Department Mechanic is certified to install car seats and works from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday. Call 615-851-2245 to make an appointment.

6. Does the Fire Department have a training facility?

The large silver structure off the side of Vietnam Veteran's Parkway is the new training tower for the City of Goodlettsville Fire Department.

7. Does the Fire Department install smoke alarms?

The Goodlettsville Fire Department provides and installs 10-year battery smoke alarms to residents within the corporate city limits of the City of Goodlettsville. There is no cost for this service and please call 615-851-2245 to schedule an install.

8. How do I obtain a burn permit?

Fire pits or recreational fires at your residence can be done without a permit as long as the size of your fire bed does not exceed three (3) ft. x three (3) ft.

If your fire is larger than a three (3) ft. x three (3) ft. and you live within the corporate city limits of Goodlettsville you can obtain a permit at Goodlettsville City Hall for $5.00. City Hall is located at 105 S. Main Street, hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You may call City Hall with any burn permit questions at 615-851-2200.

If your location falls within the Metro Nashville boundaries, check with the Nashville Fire Marshall's Office at 615-862-5230. 

9. Who do I call to ask questions or find out about my ambulance billing?

Ambulance transport in Goodlettsville is handled by Metro Nashville Fire Department or Sumner County EMS. All billing questions should be directed to the aforementioned departments - Metro Nashville 844-889-7701 or Sumner County 615-451-0429.
